In this workshop we will study:
Different qualities and dynamics of movement and ways to travel in space, as well as the use of the body as a whole and as a unit.
Structured movement phrases aimed at perfecting their execution.
Workout and strengthening combination of the muscular system with the bones.
Markella Manoliadi was born in Athens. She graduated from the State School of Dance in 2002. Since 2000 she works with dance groups such as: Lathos Kinisi (K. Michos), quasi-stellar (apostolia Papadamaki), APOTOSOMA (A. Foniadakis), Oktana (K. Rigos), Landscape (I. Parali) and Persa Stamatopoulou.
She has danced in Greece and abroad: Brussels, Amsterdam, London, Liverpool, Stockholm, Florence, Milan, Venice, Naples, Seoul, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Lyon, Slovenia, Lithuania, Romania etc.
As a choreographer she has collaborated with the theater group of A. Brouskou in two productions: "Bus Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams and "Agamemnon" by Aeschylus, Athens Festival 2008, Epidaurus. She has also worked with the theater group "Omikron 2" S. S. Tsakiris.
She has choreographed the youth group of the Duncan Center «Aldines» and the Junior Hellenic Dance Co.
She has worked as an assistant choreographer for the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, for the National Opera and the children’s National Theatre.
She has taught dance and improvisation at the Academy of Dance and Theatre AKMI, in the theater school EMPROS and the Duncan Dance Center.
Since 2013, she is responsible for the pre-professional-level program of the State School of Dance.
She teaches Contemporary Dance at the State School of Dance and the the professional school on the National Opera.
She has attended dance workshops in Greece and abroad with David Zambrano, Julien Hamilton, Trisha Brown, Steve Paxton, Wim Vandekeybus and others.
Since 2008 she cooperates in a permanent basis with the dance group Oktana of K. Rigos, as well as the Apostoma dance group of A. Foniadakis.
